Newsletters for Lawn Care Companies
Using newsletters in your lawn care business can be a great way to increase the retention rate of your clients. Typically, you wont have an occasion to talk to many of your clients very often. The reason for this is that while you’re servicing their lawn, they’re probably working, traveling or maybe you’re so busy, that you can’t take the time to stop for long.
If your customers are able to talk with you and build a relationship with you, it’s going to be more difficult for them to stop your services than if they never spoke with you again after the initial estimate. That means, next time your competition comes in and tries to offer the same services for a lower price, it’s going to be more difficult for them to say “yes” if you’re effectively communicating with them.
Even if this was the only benefit to be had by sending out newsletters, it would be completely worth it! But that’s not the only reason. In your newsletters, you’ll be able to send out coupons and also let your customers know about additional services that you offer that they might not already know. This means that you’ll get a lot more repeat business as well as increasing the average value of your customers.
Keeping customers is a LOT more profitable and costs a lot less than when you have a high turnover and are constantly on the lookout for new customers!
There are many different ways to create and send newsletters, but by far the cheapest and most cost-effective is if you can capture your customers’ email addresses and send the newsletter via email once a month or once a quarter. This takes away a huge cost of printing the newsletters and then of course either the cost of postage or the cost for one of your employees to deliver these newsletters.
If you do decide to print the newsletters and deliver them, a great way to cut down on the labor cost is to just deliver them while you’re servicing the property. That way, the only ones you really have to pay to deliver are to the customers that may have only been a one time job, rather than every week.
